Let yourself be carried away by the sounds of a group that has left no generation untouched. This is more than a performance; it is a tribute to a musical heritage that lives on. How it all began … As a teenager, Marina was glued to the television every week when Avro's TopPop was broadcast on Dutch TV. With wonder she followed the coming and going of all sorts of artists in many different genres. Some turned out to be one-hit wonders, others still resonate — so many decades later. The strongest memory: the first time Fleetwood Mac stormed the charts. The music, the drive, the dynamic between the band members, the vocal harmonies … with one person immediately catching the eye: Stevie Nicks. From that moment on, Marina wanted nothing more than to follow in her footsteps. De meeste dromen zijn bedrog — as Marco Borsato sang years ago — but at that moment an interest in making music herself had most definitely been awakened. A few years later, Marina started out as a singer in various bands. Original work, covers, arrangements … in the most diverse genres (from K3 to AC/DC). For 25 years she was part of an all-round cover band. When that group ceased to exist in June 2024, the childhood memory mentioned above naturally floated back to the surface, like a dream that had never really gone away. The idea of a Fleetwood Mac tribute band was born. In Stijn (drummer) and Joost (sound & technology) she found two loyal allies (both of whom had also been part of the previous band) to embark on a new musical adventure together. Next, they sought out — and found — the experienced and like-minded musicians they needed. Distant Rumours was born. Together they bring the timeless, decade-spanning music of Fleetwood Mac back to life. The group currently consists of: Marina (vocals), Stijn (drums), Ludo (bass), Herwig (keyboards), Ingrid (vocals), Xavier (acoustic guitar/vocals), JP (electric guitar) and Joost (sound and technology).
